This October half term, we are bringing a week of spooky fun, creative activities and family-friendly events to libraries across the borough.
From Monday 26 to Saturday 31 October, children and families can enjoy a packed programme of free and low-cost activities including spooky rhyme times, monster face crafts, pumpkin paper plate wreaths, creative writing workshops, LEGO clubs and themed storytelling.
There are activities for all ages, with sessions taking place at Ditton, Halton Lea, Runcorn and Widnes Libraries throughout the week.
Highlights include:
- Creative Writing Workshops: Postcard to the Future for children aged 7 – 11 years, helping young writers develop their imagination and storytelling skills. (Bookable via Eventbrite)
- Tmesis Theatre ‘The Wondershelf’ Performance: Perfect for curious minds and dreamers under the age of 11 years
- Free Packed Lunches: Enjoy free packed lunched and Spooky Booknics on Wednesday 28 October at Halton Lea Library and Widnes Library
- Crafty Sessions: Children can enjoy cauldron painting, monster face craft and paper cup ghosts
- Fidget Squishy Swap: Make your own trading board and trade and play with your favourite squishes
- Spooky Saturday Stories: Children are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and listen to spooky stories
