A Good Yarn

Every Monday from 2-3.30pm at Runcorn Library. 
Last session at Granville Street is on Monday 24th March.  The first session in No.6 Church Street is on Monday 7th April.

Every Thursday from 10.30-12pm at Widnes Library

Bring along your latest yarn project to work on in a comfortable and relaxed environment.

Bereavement Cafe

Informal peer led group is an opportunity for Halton’s bereaved adults to get together and chat and support each other.

The groups are held monthly on the:

1st Monday of the month at Halton Lea Library, Runcorn Shopping City, 10.30-11.30am (please note that May’s meeting is on Monday 12th May)
3rd Monday of the month at St Maries, Lugsdale Road, Widnes, 12.30-1.30pm

Booking is not necessary.

Brilliant Builds

Every Thursday from 3-5pm at Halton Lea Library, Widnes Library and Ditton Library.

Design. Construct. Create at our Brilliant Builds weekly sessions.  Magnetic Tiles  K’Nex and other building materials will be available for children to create their own designs and inventions.

Call and Chat Group

Halton Libraries has a group run over the phone for people over 60 who would like a chat about books and meet new people. The group is hosted by a member of library staff.

The group has a chat every other Wednesday at 2.30 pm.

Dungeons and Dragons

Every Thursday at Halton Lea Library, 3.30-4.45pm. Suitable for ages 18+

The D & D youth group runs in school holidays only Thursdays 2.30–4.45pm at Halton Lea Library.  Suitable for ages 12-17 years.

All abilities and experience welcome.

Join us for a D & D club celebrating the shared world of table top roleplaying, fantasy characters, and embark upon new adventures during our friendly free club.

Family History Helpdesk

Home Ed Monthly Meet Up

Last Wednesday of the month, 1-3pm, Halton Lea Library

Meet other local home ed families.  Fun activities such as Lego, board games, painting and space to play provided at each session.

IT Assistance

Drop in for help with using the Internet, emails, your digital device and more.  Available in all libraries throughout each day.  No appointment necessary.

Reading Groups

A reading group is a group of people who meet together to talk about a book they have read. They read one book a month and discuss it at the following meeting. Each meeting lasts for an hour.

Halton Lea Library

  • Saturday meets on the first Saturday of every month at 10.30am (Full – waiting list)

Widnes Library

  • Tuesday 1 meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 5.45pm (Full – waiting list)
  • Tuesday 2 meets on the last Tuesday of every month at 5.45pm (Full – waiting list)
  • Tuesday 3 meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 5.45pm.  (Full – waiting list)

Runcorn Library

  • Runcorn’s reading group meets on the last Monday of the month 10.30am – 11.30am (Full – waiting list)

Ditton Library

Shared Reading

Shared reading is an informal, calm and relaxed session where a group leader will read a short poem or section of prose and then the group can talk about how it makes them feel or what it means to them. There is no pressure to contribute. If people just want to come along and listen, that’s absolutely fine.  We look forward to seeing you at one of our sessions;

Shared Reading.  Every Friday 10.30-11.30am at Widnes Library.

Shared Reading Dementia Friendly.  Every other Tuesday, 2-3pm, Halton Lea Library (meeting room 6).  This group runs every fortnight on a Tuesday.
